Buying Now to Save Later

Have you noticed that the price of almost everything from gas to food and clothing seems to cost more today than just a few months ago. Well you are not alone. Unfortunately, these price increases are just the tip of the iceberg.

Many factors have impacted the overall cost of products today. The rising cost of food, energy, and fuel has driven prices for almost everything higher. Meanwhile a destructive summer season, along with fast economic growth and demand in China and Pakistan has caused the cost of cotton to almost double in the last year. In addition to the reduced harvest of raw materials increasing their prices, it has also increased the demand and therefore cost for their alternatives, synthetic fabrics, further reducing any possible financial breaks available to manufactures. As a result of these and many other factors it is costing more to make, ship, sell and therefore buy products.

As a wholesale distributor who specializes in socks and apparel, Eros Hosiery Company is already feeling the burn of rising cost. Like many companies doing business in the current economy, we often find ourselves trying to balance out higher cost with costumer satisfaction while still trying to maintain a reasonable amount of profit. Experience has taught us that, though we can not control the market, buying large quantities and purchasing ahead of the trends can help reduce the burden as well as increase profit. This is why we are already ordering as well as accepting orders for winter items. Though these items will not ship nor really sell till later in the year, ordering early allows us to stay ahead of demand and the future price raises that coincide with it. In addition to buying early, accepting preorders help us predict demand and reduce cost allowing us to do the same for our costumers.
